Shallow reef build

Looking at your tank makes me have a feeling i ate some crazy mushrooms...
You have excellent taste for corals my friend!
This tank should be in a magazine

Thanks! I think that feeling is a good thing! Anytime you get a trippy experience without actually eating something feels awesome. Actually eating them feels great too but that is a different thread. We did stock the tank to show as many colors and patterns as possible. Not sure about a magazine, but it's really nice of you to say! Most tanks in magazines now a days have spotless rocks, sand and glass along with some crazy expensive equipment or led unit, I don't have any of that. :) Your compliment has made my day and I am sure my girls too.

On another note we broke down whole tank. The crack was not in the right spot where we could fix it in time... it's extreemly painful and stressful to take down so suddenly. We have to buy a new reefkeeper unit because it got fried by the water from the leak. We are not sure why the tank cracked out of no where.

BUT since we had the tank break and had a hard time seeing the back of the shallow tank from the front we got a replacement! We are going to do the opposite of shallow and got a 90 gallon tall :bounce2:
It's an old tank and has scratches but was our best option for replacement. More info coming because today is the day we transfer all out livestock back to the new tank. We also get do redo our fish stock, we put the fish that were in the shallow tank into our 40 breeder lps/anemone tank.

We also got a new 100mm macro lense along with a few other nice ones. So hopefully further updates of corals can be twice as beautiful. Stay tuned and chime in if you have been following please!

We are aquascaping today, I am dreading getting started because these tall and skinny tanks are a pain to get any dimension out of. I will get a fts up at the end of the day if possible.

Here is what we got so far. We still need to add more rocks and flat protruding ledges for the zoa frags and colonies on the rack and bottom. Then we can move the chalice colonies and blastos over. I will probably start a new thread for this tank.

Thanks, its still under construction. We got a handful of new fish and still need to add a few rocks to raise the zoas up off the bottom and more towards the light. Plus we still need to glue some colonies and frags down. We cut back some of the colonies that needed it.
I think in a short time i will have a thread for the new tank :)

Oh and we got a 100mm macro lense and an avast top down! Yay!
