Then go with 1-2 mm. Or better yet crush coral 2-5mm. I like.
Just my opinion.

It's worth it. I have black starboatd and keep it clean except for some coralline and the contrast of it and the corals GLOW like crazy. It just "looks" better than white sand, IMO. I skim like crazy however.

Right now my substrate if turf algae. It is spreading like crazy and my clean up crew isn't keeping up. It has gotten thick.

I'm waiting for someone to do a group buy on a clean up crew. Right now I only have 5 astrea snails, 1 scarlet, 1 electric blue, 1 emerald. I'll post a pic of how crazy it has gotten.
