Share your picture of your rare or high end zoa colony 20+ polyps

Reefwars, nice pic... man it makes me miss all my deepwaters... literally had a thousand various colors of the deepwater polyp colonies.... then my old tank crashed and took all of them down.

What are these?

im not sure what they are called. i thought "fire and ice" but i dunno with some of these names. id just as soon call them "molson Canadian" zoas. i just wish my camera took better pics. the colours are a lot more vibrant than they appear.

thanks i love the deepwater variety too the pastel colors are amazing :cool:

its sad to look back and think of some of the nice zoas ive lost over the years for various reasons, its a nice coral which has kept me entertained for many years and ill admit sometimes i feel like ditching them but im always drawn back.

sometimes ill think ive lost them and i turn a rock over and bang, there they are.

these yellow ones covered the entire rock, and then started dying off, and i figured i had lost them. the rock got shuffled around ( this was maybe a year and a half ago) and just recently while doing some maintenance i found about half a dozen tiny little polyps. they have opened up quite a bit more and there is definitely more but the colour isnt there just yet. they used to be so bright. but im just so happy they are back. i dont know how common they are but i hardly ever see them, in fact the last time i saw them was almost 2 years ago when i bought the frag.

Do you still have those teal centers with the orange rings on them? They are a little north east of the zoas in the middle. They are beautiful.

ill play :wildone::wildone:

deepwaters:

I prefer tank raised zoanthids like the other ones you posted vs these newly imported wild colonies, they look nice but there's something about zoanthids that have grown out in a captive system that makes them look better and healthier :)
