Sharing some photos of my tank.

50 gallon rimless cube, mixed reef. I was hand-holding the camera tonight, but will break out the tri-pod and try to get some good shots of the sps another day. I only had a few minutes tonight after the kiddos went to bed, before the lights shut off in the tank. And this was at feeding time, which is why there are so many spots... bits of food in the water. :)

Very pretty, love the Anthias and acans! Can you elaborate any on the difference when you add t5 to the LED? I have just LEDs and love them, but t5 seems to do something for fish and coral colors that LED's can't.

absolutely stunning! The colors are amazing & everything looks so very healthy. You have a really fantastic aquarium.

OMG! Can someone pass me a napkin? I am drooling looking at the photos. Did you say you took the photos without a tripod? Simply AMAZING!

T5 seems to fill in some of the spectrum gaps that leds haven't managed to fill. I'm sure they soon will but for now even the full spectrum led lights out have small gaps in the overall scheme.

Thank you, everyone. I'm loving being back into the hobby again after a few years off. :)

Oops, sorry for not seeing this earlier. Yes, as 82nd posted below, the T5's seem to fill in the shadows and give a more even coverage than the LEDs. I had all T5's on my old tank and loved them. Had to tear that one down when my kids were little, and when I started this tank I went with all LED's at first. It just didn't give me quite the punch I wanted, so I switched over to the hybrid unit. Very happy with it now, although it took some dialing in before I liked the color balance.

Cerameco rockwork? Looks amazing!!!
Thanks!
Yes, Cerameco rockwork. I wanted a bonsai look to this tank with some nice open caves for the fish, but where I could still see them. Very happy with the Cerameco. It's colored up great and didn't have any pests on it. I have a TON of growth on it, including a lot of sponges which help keep the water clean. And it's very frag friendly, with a lot of nooks and areas to place coral.

Yep. What he said. :)

t5 colors to suppliment LED

t5 colors to suppliment LED

Hope this isn't hijack.. Even when they get the full spectrum I don't think the point source of the LEDs will be able to give the 'soft glow' that seems to come from the t5s.

Can anyone advise on what color/brand t5 bulbs you'd use to compliment the typical royal blue/white LED setup?
Thanks

I didn't even think to point that out. Good point. T5 while fading from the hobby as a main light source still has it's place as supplemental lights. They help fill in the blanks and provide good coverage to a tank like frogg21 said by lighting every area of it better. I personally like a Led/T5 or Halide/T5 combo as my lighting scheme but have been leaning towards adding some Led to my Halide/T5 combo to see if it is the ultimate trifecta. Margie's tank looks great with just the Led/T5 on there and the colors seem to be better than my old radion/T5 combo I ran.
