Shark And Stingray Tank Questions

I have always wanted a large shark and ray tank, however i have a few questions. The tank i am looking into getting is a 300 gallon tank with the dimensions of 72" x 36" x 63-1/2" high. I will not be getting any tank without fully researching first so i can provide my animals the best care possible.

This is what i am looking into keeping, but i would like some expert opinions.

I plan to keep a pair of epaulette sharks and a few yellow stingrays, maybe 3-4 max. For fish i plan to stay away from any angels/puffers/triggers/butterflyfish. My plan for fish was a zebra moray eel, radiata lionfish, a few peaceful tangs, and maybe a few squirrelfish/snappers.

What do you guys think?

I hope i didn't offend any expert shark/ray keepers. I just want to get enough information to determine whether it is the right time to fulfill my dream, or if i should wait a little longer until the tim is right.

So please don't flame me, im just looking for information, not trying to upset anyone.

Unless you have a typo in there that is more like 700 gallons.

I will let some of the shark/ray experts in here chime in, but you would be better off with a 72x63 base based on what I've read.

Most common eppies will grow to over four feet in length. As stated a pair of them would require a set up at minimum double the demensions of the 300. Please understand that while some sources will state that these sharks are fairly sedentary, in the wild they do move a lot to search for food and the like. In captivity they will not need to move as much but still need a lot of space. For a 300 a pair of coral cats would do fairly well and are great sharks to care for. For eppies you are going to need a tank that is atleast 10 feet long by 6 feet wide or a round pond of 10 feet diameter.

Yep, get more footprint to that tank and you'll be on a better foot to start on. Snappers make great tankmates for sharks. Some grunts do as well if you are looking for a bigger bodies schooling fish to fill the water column without creating problems for the sharks/rays on the bottom.
