My poor little maroon clown (about 4 yrs old) has recently gone into hiding in the rock and when I saw him yesterday he had a prodruding Right eyeball that was opaque. No other signs of disease or trauma. All peaceful inhabitants (he's the biggest fish in the tank - 200 gal - about 4 inches in size) causes? should I worry/do anything? Thanks!

Agreed, a pic would help, but it does sound like pop eye. I would also recommend, that if you aren't doing it now, to add a garlic supplement to the food you are giving her.

I'll try to get a pic if he comes out of hiding. What the hack is a popeye and is there anything to do about it? Description sound very appropriate. Thanks

Pop eye is either caused by damage / wound to the eye (this will heal on its own) or a bacterial infection which may require a course of treatment. The actual pop eye itself is not serious but ugly !
