Velvet or ick? Shark is scratching like crazy. But still eats. He is in qt right now. How do you treat a shark for this. Some people say copper safe is ok for sharks and it will just make there eating go down. .

I started him on coppersafe yeasterday. Hopefully he comes through

The coppersafe will most likely kill the shark. I'd remove the coppersafe and treat with crypto pro.

Get the copper out ASAP! Copper safe is copper based at will kill it. Sharks can't get cryptocaryon.
Do you have a better pic? That looks like debris from the tank, not a parasite. It collects on the denticals all the time. Not anything to be worried about. "Scratching" might actually point to a bacterial infection setting it. Kanamycin would be a better treatment that is very shark safe.

I will take him out tomorrow. He has been in the tank w copper for about 4 days eating more every day.

A shark exposed to enough copper to kill a parasite will also be killed. Anytime you hear of someone using copper on a shark 'successfully' didn't dose it correctly to actually kill the parasite they are treating for.
If you had him in a full dose copper, the damage may already have been done. It will show as the liver and kidney shut down.

When you say 1.5 -2 - what unit of measurement is that in? I assume it's not mg/L?
Some sites also say JFK and Elvis are hiding in Vegas. Don't believe that either.
I've been working specifically with sharks for a LONG time, have managed the largest shark collection in world and am currently managing the most diverse elsamo species collection in South FL. Copper exposure at levels high enough to kill parasites will kill elsamobranchs.
