Well, down at Myrtle Beach and the past 2 mornings we have seen sharks swimming up the beach, not 4 feet from shore!! Not big ones or anything like that, but 3-4 footers mostly, saw a 5 footer from the balcony this morning... tomorrow... I will be in the water when they come through.. hehe..

they are sand tigers, I am pretty sure and aren't going to bother anything.. but just in case, you guys may want to start a collection for my hospital bill, heheh....

Humans have (relatively) recently become a prey item of Bull sharks, which feed in shallow water. When you go in the water, splash around like a wounded fish - or a human swimmer. Maybe we'll see you on the local news.
You could also win a Darwin award.

I had the pleasure of seeing some dolphins just feet from our boat when we were in florida last week, and some huge stingrays, I was snorkeling and thought I was gonna pull a steve irwin when 3ish footer was about a foot from me. Wasn't lucky enough to see sharks though.

While in Moorea in 06 we got to feed wild rays and they would literally hug you if you were feeding them and some I think black tips sharks came in to see what was happening and got within about 10 feet of us.

Clickable thumbs.

These are sand tigers.. and no luck yet... water got choppy and weather windy, so they are now patroling deeper... finally broke down and bought a good scuba mask and snorkel so maybe I'll see one closer snorkeling around...

Chris, I would love to see the sharks like that. I did see dolphins from a distance like you've been seeing the sharks. Have fun but don't get eaten by a shark :~)

yeah.. made it back without any bite marks.. heh.. We didn't see them anymore after that... bummer... Not too concerned with these. Pretty harmless especially when you knowing what to look for. In Maui this past December I spent about 20 minutes hanging out with a 5-6 foot white tip reef shark, no more than 10 feet away and closer for most of that... White tips aren't going to hurt anyone and if you have respect for the animal you can really come away with a unique experience...
