Sharks for 430 gallon?

What kind of sharks would you recommend for a 430 gallon and what are some ideal tank mates? I know I can't keep a horn or a smooth hound for life. But how long could I keep a pup before having to upgrade?

For life you could keep and eppaulette or a brown banded don't know about horn sharks I think they need five to six hundred gallons

I would get a pair of epppaulettes. Horn sharks are my favirate but need a min of a 1000 gallons but if you want to keep sharks I would get a 12ft pond then you can keep almost any shark and they will be very happy. I dont no what is in your tank but angels and triggers will pick at sharks.

I have a vlamingii tang,yellow tang,bicolor angel,coral beauty,flame angel,maroon clown, and a magnificence foxface and an annularis angel. I was thinking about getting rid of some of my fish and get a giant hawkfish and or some sharks.

dimensions? Bamboo and maybe epaulette sharks need a large sand bed IIRC.

I am bringing in some captive bred H. trispeculare next month. They are a smaller shark than your typical epaulette and IMO much better looking. Pm me if interested. I think the hemiscyllium species would be best fitted for the unique dimensions of your tank.

You would likely need a 1/2 hp or 1 hp chiller if you wanted to go with a horn. Plus your talking about a 4+ foot shark that has some weight to it.

sorry but i didn't want to hijack a thread but i spend most of my time here reading for information and have not posted enough (at all) to pm you so... I tried to find some info on the sharks you were getting but could find very little on them and was hoping you could fill me in a little about them. I have been considering raising a shark or possibly a pair.

I have an emp. angel, triggers and a stars and strip puffer with my sharks and rays. They ignore them for the most part. I do keep them well fed and feed daily.

I did have a problem with a morish idol going after the rays tail. It hated the ray and would chase its tail. I got rid of the idol as soon as I saw an issue.
