I have a plague of shell-less snails in my 46 gallon there are no fish in it at this time-but I wanted to know if these snails are good or bad? and either way is there a way to get rid of them because i have thousands of them...all of a sudden. thanks!

Without pictures I'd also guess stomatella snails, but it could be many different things.

I've heard of them reproducing pretty rapidly in water conditions with higher nutrients. What are your param's like?

I have about a dozen that fit this description in my fuge, they just kind of popped up, but I havent found any in the main tank.

some of the snails she has looks like they have little back packs on and the others look like fresh water apple snails or something. she will have to post some pics of the other ones. i know the back pack ones are normal and come on most live rock. i dont know what the other one is though.

that link has one picture that kinda looks like them-ill have to post pictures soon...probably friday though. Maybe not thousands of them but definitally like a hundred. most of them are really small- they are definitally not flatworms...they arent that small.

ill post pictures later...

its definitally Stomatella snails...is there any way to keep them from multipling or a way to get rid of them...im not a big fan. :-\

she only has a few of the stomatella, but a bunch of the other ones. i took pics tonight. she will have to up load them later for you. thanks all!

Stomatella snails are excellent to have in a tank! I'd share if you don't want them as they aren't readily available for purchase.
