Shelving

I want to stack two 40g breeders plumbed to a 30g long sump/refugium on some shelving. Any ideas? Here are some ideas I have found:

IMO, none of those will be anywhere near strong enough for the load you are planning on. Disaster awaits.

You are talking close to a 1000lbs load if not more. You need to build a custom stand if you want to stack the tanks. I don't think you will find a commercial stand anywhere that is up to that.

You can build something with some 3/4" plywood and some dimensional lumber for the same price or less

Any ideas on how to build one? Problem is I don't have any tools. I could get the wood cut at the lumbar yard if it isn't too difficult.

Maybe it's time to start your tool collection? Although that last one would probably hold the tanks, it will quickly rust and become junk. You would be much better off to DIY a stand so that you can get it just right for your needs.

btw: all you need is a skil saw and a drill, some drill bits, screws and 2x4s. Later on you can skin it with paneling or better wood.
