a local reefclub friend had a gold stripe maroon that she needed to get rid of after a tank breakdown, so i told her i would take it.....not realizing how large it really was :eek2:

so i went to the meeting sun & she presents me w/ this gold stripe maroon the at is every bit 3" long. i currently only have 2 tanks....a biocube 8 & a 12 gallon nano.

the 12 has a small pair of percs & a fuji damsel w/ about 20lbs of live rock & a few corals. the 8 only has 3 pieces of live rock that are about 9-10lbs & they are in a simple "bridge" & there is a nice sized brain coral in the sandbed. so since the 8 has more water area, i put the clown in there, but i feel so bad that she is too crowded i think :(

i don't know what to do w/ her....the girl i got her from doesn't have a tank setup & no other members of our club seemed to be interested in taking her. she does swim around quite abit & will practically swim right into my hand when i put it in the tank, so i'm sure she isn't too stressed....i just wish i had a bigger tank for her. i am contemplating a biocube 29 in the next few weeks......

the hydor flo deflector in the pic is 2 1/4" across, to give you an idea of scale

That even a Gold Stripe Maroon? Or even a Maroon at all? Looks like some kind of hybrid really. And she'll get much bigger then 3" when all is said and done. 29g BioCube would be a good tank for a pair of them though I would think? Maybe some others will respond.

The 8 is a fine temporary home. I just wouldn't add any more fish. 29g Biocube would be a nice tank for a pair. I'm not convinced it's a hybrid though.

That is a GSM. Probably the parents were gold and white which causes the gold not to show as much. Very nice clown. a 29 for it should be ok. My 26 bow has a GSM right now at 1.5 inch, ill eventually get a smaller one in the future. And no that's not a hybrid, just a very nice looking GSM. GL

Wow that is a beautiful fish I would help you out by taking if you need space, but right now my 75g is full of toys and a tube broke

i took her to my LFS that has always treated me EXTREMLY well on prices & asked them to find her a suitable home

That's great, when ever I get a pair of clowns the male ends up dieing I have already had 4 pairs of clowns die on me so I don't have any fish in my tank:(
