If you use 2 mil bags, go with triple bagging, if 3 mil, double bagging should be good. Depending on what you are sending, it is good to float some frags (e.g. acros) on a little chunk of styro that is attached with a rubber band. Others are ok to set on the bottom of the bag. If they are long enough, can tie the bags. No need to leave air in the bag, and tie with just a little slack/flexibility in the bag. Ice packs are a must this time of year. Not sure if FedEx does home pick ups anymore, but used to have them pick up at the house or office as late as possible. Send priority overnight (guaranteed by 10:30 am).
