I would like to take a minute to remind everyone to plug your aquarium pumps, heaters, chillers, lights etc. into GFCI outlets!!! I know this and just set up another new aquarium and did not do it... I awoke (thank God) this morning to the smell of burnt electrical circuits... During the night I had of all things and overflow pipe crack for a hang on the back overflow going to my sump below the tank. The siphon was broken and the sump pump continued pumping... until it over flowed the main tank and water began hitting a power strip which from the smell, melted plastic and burnt carpet I would say was a fine display of fireworks... So in conclusion GFCI GFCI GFCI...
