shops selling SPS NY area?

polywise

OLD SCHOOL-ish
Looking to buy some more for my tank. Want to buy in person, Any suggestions as to what shops and where?

house of fins is so overpriced but then again it is up the street from a bently dealer. try new world aqurium its on 38 between 2nd and 3rd.

It is cheaper to but on-line and pay for shipping than getting any coral from House of Fins. They are insanely expansive. Absolutely Fish is much more reasonable but the selection is not that great as far as SPS is concerned.

Where on Staten Island is Reef Fantasy? I hear alot about a new shop on SI but I have no idea where it is.

any shop selling nice sps in new york is a fantasy, lol................you know this stuff comes out of the pacific right? buy online , youll be glad you did

E] I know what you are saying but I like to see it in person before purchasing.

Have you looked into animal kingdom in brewster? Its a general all pet store but there are some locals that sell their frags to them so you may find stuff you normally wouldnt in there. Other then that, thats as close to carmel i get. Nothing in the danbury area except of reefers but there are a few of us so maybe a local hobbiest deal?

wentreefgirl,
Where in Brewster? Are there two Animal Kingdomââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s? There is one in Mahopac (little south of Brewster) but I think they stopped selling fish related stuff couple of months ago.

One off of exit 19 next to kohls and home depot. Have a shark tank in the front of the store and a nice fish room with lots of more up to date coral then i can get locally. They also have inverts, macro algae and a great selection of equiptment.

where in ny are u? if near nyc, go to absolutely fish in clifton. u will not be disappointed.

DMK,
My tank is in Mount Vernon, that is the starting point of my radius I don't want to travel more than +- 1 hour to go to a store. I'll check the store in Clifton.

what are there prices like? can you give an example? I would hate to go there from Staten Island just to find myself going home empty handed.

Mike, AF is pretty expensive. Good stuff to look at usually, though the prices aren't anything special.

HoF has an awful SPS selection, i was in there 2 weeks ago and they had like 12 acros.

Reef and fin in stamford ct. we drive from hopewell juct. 1+hrs. good price good selection.
The guy in elmsford ny on 119 just started doing stonies aswell. didn't really check prices, nice stock though, needed b-ionic in a rush.
