Go to Lowe's and get some plastic mirrored egg crate. It is $20 for a sheet and make a suicide lid. Lets light in also keeps fish in. I would never do another open top tank without one.

Hey Amanda! How's the tank lookin?

My is comming along nicely... slowly but surely.

Jawfish are more likely to jump within the first weke or so of being in the tank. Once they find a home and settle in it, they are usually fine about jumping.... but that doesn't mean they wont jump.

If you want real pretty, go for a blue spot.... one of the most beautiful fish IMO and also one of my favorite.

Yea, I Know, I Really Like that one Too but......... When you get down to the PRICE hummm . My hubby would kill me, then who would take care of the fish..lol I can't go that route.

Unfortunately, I've had many (including wrasses and jawfish) jump through eggcrate. It works well for larger fish, though.

Amanda, do you want a loose frag to put where you want it, or do you want a mounted frag already on a small piece of LR.

These are mounted on a piece of LR so they don't get moved around the tank.

Yes, those are purple feather dusters with yellow stripes, I got them at my LFS for $9.99 each, they get them in all the time, they are just the Hawaiin ones.

RJ, I'll just take a small loose piece so I can epoxy it on top of my purple one. SO, it will look like orange, purple, green.

I'm getting 3 shipments of zoos in today. One from Liveaquaria, one from marine depot and one from reefermadness. I can't wait to see them!

wow, I finally caught up on all my reading in this thread.

Amanda, that is an absolutely beautiful tank. I love the colors, you really know what you are doing.

I'm preparing right now to set up a 5 gallon (3.5 display area) at my office and I'm really looking forward to seeing what comes of it. I've come up with several things that I want to do because of seeing this thread.

Good morning everyone! Well, I plan to get my macro lense ou today and see if I can get som enice close ups. Also, one of my feather dusters sliped from position last night, so I need to fix that. My tank is just about done. I'm waiting to see if I can get some Pedersons shrimp, 2 purple prcelain crabs, about 4 more bumblebee shrimp and some type of goby. It has now been days since I have last seen my YWG, I have no idea where he is. I'd really like a spot goby, but live aquaria is out of stock. Now that the sun is coming up earlier and changing position some, I'm getting an algae buildup on th eglass each day that needs to be wipe down.

I also ordered a new PH, one of those sweeper ones. I had bad luck with my last one not sweeping, but I didn't clean it though either. I also ordered a spinning return valve, I'd like a little morewater movement in my tank that isn't the same stream constantly.

I bought some more chaeto yesterday, my other batch was almost gone! I have so many pods because I seeded it twice with huge bags of pods from inland aquatics because I'm going to get a mandarin, and man, they are everywhere!!!! I think they must be eating the chaeto, because something is!!!

I hope my zoos spread quickly and get big, I love them so much. They really add nice color to the tank.

That is all for now, I'll post some pics later.

Would anyone mind posting pics of there nano here for me to see? I love to see different aquascaping and fish and such. I'm already trying to decide which tank to do next!

I was reading a thread last night that had to do with these! One guy said, and i am not telling you to do it , but when he cleaned his he used the grease that comes with most pumps. He said he put it on the gears and it has worked ever since! Thought you might like to know that!
