Here is a couple pictures and I finally bought something new for the 90g, a nice Derasa kind of like the one I had in the 55g.

Your nanos are incredible! About to get back into the hobby and purchased a 24 gal version of the aquapod. The light fixture is a 70 watt HQI and there are 12 leds for "moonlight". What's the consensus on this MH setup? I noticed several of you are running 150 watters, is this retrofittable? Also, what protein skimmers are you using? Thanks

I would go with a AquaC Remora for your Aquapod. As far as a retro on your 70W to a 150W, not sure. You'd have to change the bulb holder as well as the internal metal halide ballast. I am sure it can be done.
www.nanocustoms.com actually sells the aquapod with the 150W fixture. This is the only place that does. Current-USA doesn't currently offer the Aquapod with a 150W fixture.

Nice clam RJ. What kind of lighting do you have. Does that clam require moderate to high wattage?

Derasa clams do well under medium, but really color up nicely under higher lighting and I am using 250w 14k Metal Halides.

What's your plan for the long-term care of the Derasa?

If healthy, you've got a couple years before it starts getting to 9-12" ...

The Derasa is in my 90g tank not the Nano, there is plenty of room for him to grow. My last Derasa pretty much tripled in size the first year.

Great to hear Amanda, we could sure use a bunch of new pictures.

My new Derasa is looking great, it is coloring up nicely under the 14k bulbs and looks very healthy. I hope it stays that way!

Are you running into any heat issues with the light you are running? I want to upgrade to halides but am torn between a few

The Sunpod right now is at the bottom of my list due to its built in ballast (im worried about temps)

The JBJ Viper - im hearing the reflector leaves alot to be desired and actually winds up having more light spillover than into the tank. But, it is remote ballast

Coralife Aqualight Advanced clamp-on -- havent heard much on these at all besides the fact that is it remote ballast AND has cooling fans

I have absolutly no heat issues at all!! At night my tank is 78 and during the day it's 81, I have no fans or chillers, my sunpod rocks!

Also if you know, how many watts does that fixture use? Im tryin to figure out if it will have a noticeable impact on our power bill
