Should I add a Power Brown Tang?

My fish list in as below in my signature. I always love Powder Brown. I am near or at the fish load of my tank (320 gal with sump and Refugium total 500 gal system) I have introduced Powder Brown to my previous 450 gal tank in the past without much problem. I think I can do it again. I always fatten my fish up in the refugium and train them (tangs) to eat Nori prior to release them in my DT.

Right now I have a Regal angel in the refugium, about to be release to DT. Is this too many fish? My tank get 50 gal water change weekly. Water condition is optimal. Bio load is not what I am worry about but is this going to be too many (large) fish in a 320 gal tank?

As I mentioned, my fish list is in my signature line. I will likely add two more flame angels at a later time

320 tank wall to wall carpets. Angels: Regal, Watanabe Pair, Flame. Copperband But. Tangs: Purple, Powder Blue, Yellow,Chevron. Foxface, Harlequin Tusk, 2 Marine Betta, 2 Clownfish

Can't help with the answer but I'm hitching on this to see the feedback. Do you still have the powder blue?

I'm setting up a 260 and wanted both but have read they are not a good fit.

Yes. My PBT is a blemished tang with his L spike permanently erected. I keep both (not this tang) in 450 gal tank before and there was no problem.

I think you can stock more fish in the. But then again I mainly have wrasse and anthias and 2 tangs.

What I did before was to add a smaller Powder Brown to a tank that have Yellow, Purple, Mimic, Powder Blue, Fox face. He was in my refugium for 6 months, eatting really well and eating nori clip really well. He was chased to the rock work for about 1 month. I just feed him with a Nori clip there. I usually have three Nori stations for my tangs, I just leave them the same but added another on a stick and put it back there in the rock work for him. After 3-4 weeks, he swim around like the rest of the tangs. No further problem.

From experiences, wrasse do not do well with as many carpets as I have. They always go wet carpet surfing and ended up as carpet food. I like my Carpets more so no wrasse.
I don't feed enough (not enough times) for anthias. Only feed twice a day. I had 5 Lyetail anthias. The male always worry too much about the females and spend too much energy chasing them, get weak and died. One after another the next female change to male and died in 6 months or so. I did not replace them.

you should keep one in a acclimation container and see if there is any aggression. I have had a PBT and a Achilles together in my previous tank.

I added him last Saturday and they were fine until yesterday. When I got home I found PBT literally hitting the brown tang and trying to slice him with his tail. I tried removing the blue but was unable to catch him. I'm working today and will only find out if the brown is still alive when I get home. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

I added four tangs and two dwarf angels at the same time to avoid aggression issues which worked on the tangs but not the angels. And of course I had an ammonia spike a day later. Luckily a bottle of bio-spira worked out well.Now the tangs are getting along pretty well but the coral beauty still hates the flame angel....

Bad Idea with the Powder blue already in the tank. I know someone who just did this with a 6" powder brown and the 4" powder blue beat the brown so badly in one day he was easily netted out of the tank. The experiment lasted less than 24 hrs. Won't be easy to get the brown out after it goes in you DT

I think the way I add it, there is a fair chance of success. However, given the bio-load on my tank, and the fish I already have, I just as soon not going through the trouble at this time. Thanks everybody

So Tasso, how did the Powder Brown Tang do? Did he make it?
I love the cloloration of the Powder Brown. there is a rediculus numbers of different colors on the fins, especially the dorsal fins for the Powder Brown Tang. I should have added him first then the Powder Blue last. Too late now.

Unfortunately he did not, he was too severely injured. Needless to say I got rid of my powder blue as he was just too aggressive to everyone.
