Bluespotted Jawfish, way cooler IMO and there are some that look just like him without the price tag. Swales Swissguard Basslet and Swissguard Basslet. but there are some REALLY cool smaller fish I would rather have for that price tag lol JMO!

All of the basslets in my experience have been quite aggressive and this fish has
been a dream fish for some time now what fish would you get with that money?
Maybe a candy basslet?

Np dont get me wrong they are gorgeous fish just not what I would chose. Im sure if you got it you would be happy with it!

Save some dough. Google "peppermint hogfish" mines been slightly aggressive in my 40 breeder, but only with new additions, and then the aggression dies off after a day or two

If it is a dream fish of yours, you have the money, and the proper environment to house it in, go for it. IMO the other posters should not be telling you to save your money for something else, it's sharing their personal taste in fish. It sounds like you really like this fish, and I highly recommend getting the fish you like. Look alike fish aren't the same as the real thing. I say to for it!

Agreed. The other commenters here basically seem to be saying you shouldn't like this fish.

Do some more research on care. You can probably call or email Foster Smith directly about this specimen.

Then, if you want it, can afford it and are confident that you can take care of it, it's up to you if it's worth the money. I haven't seen anything in the other comments that raise a question of this fish being particularly delicate or hard to care for.

I agree it is your money and your tank.

OP asked for "input" and that's what he is getting.

My honest input is it doesn't "look" like a $600 dollar fish to me. If I spend $600 on a fish it better look like it, and by that I mean something extremely color and exotic looking.

I read the OP as input on the fish's care or behavior, not the input on whether the fish is worth the $600. Might be that I just don't care how much a person spends on a fish, they can't help the price much. It's not my money that they are spending, it's their money and their tank (only place I feel like I should give input on what to spend your money on is when it comes to equipment).
