Should I help my Banggaii male to spit out babies?

1st off what do you all feed your BC? Mine are very picky and the only thing they truly love is bloodworms. They'll eat mysis from time to time.

2nd, my BC seem to stress easy. When I walk close to the tank or to the tank they dart like there frightened and usualy hide.

The male had his first brood about 2 weeks ago, and swallowed them 1 week later. I'm trying to find some success.

O yea, didn't fully understand how you seperated the male and babies. They were in the same tank and you just put a divider up?
Whats the most advisable procedure for this? I left mine with the female. Should I have moved him to a grow out tank at 1 week?

i have a pair of bagais and i was wondering which one is the male and which is the female? one is bigger than the other. is the bigger one the male or the female? and how long did you have yours before they had eggs?

the male has a larger jaw, more robust, the female rounded and slightly smaller.
Mine havn't been successful yet.
I'll wait with you for the successful breeders to answer both our questions.

It's really hard to tell males from females. My female seems to be rounder in shape in general. My male's jaw gets larger when he is holding eggs. Other times, it's not really that massive or squarish like other people noted. My male has a longer banner fin as well. However, a single one with a long banner fin in another tank just lost the tip of its fin. So the banner fin is not the greatest indicator.

I separated the male from the female with the divider. When the babies came, I moved the female to another tank and I scooped out the male and put him on the other side of the divider where the female was. This way seemed the least stressful for the babies. The male also needed a time away from the female since she was really eager to mate again.

If you don't separate babies from their parents, all the babies will be eaten up.

Thanks. The next hurdle is to get them to accept frozen food. They reluctantly eat frozen cyclopeeze and brine shrimp, but they really try to hold out for adult live brine shrimp. Even after letting them go without food for 24 hours or more, they still don't like to eat frozen food.

yea, mine are very finiky eaters too. Mine absolutely love live bloodworms. They'll eat live brine too. Frozen mysis the'll eat like a bird, but they eat a little nontheless.
what is the staple food your feeding them?

have they had there 2nd clutch yet??

The parents eat all sorts of frozen food. The little guys are on cyclopeeze and brine shrimp supplemented with live brine shrimp.
