Should I just remove this whole colony of green birdsnest?

I hate to do it because it was one of my first 2 frags, but it is outpacing the rest of my SPS and is growing laterally and all over the place. It's probably 1" in diameter in some places it's grown together. I seriously can't frag this thing fast enough to keep it from shading other SPS and I can't even give it all away. :) Should I just nuke it? Or is it cool enough to just live with? I'm afraid as I keep fragging it it's going to wind up in one thick trunk!

Head on shot - you can see where it's growing up the rock wall.

Side view - pardon the anthias, she has no manners. Note the 3 frags in the back that still don't have homes.

Top down - look how thick it's getting!

What would you do with a weird monster colony?

frag it, nuke the base, and grow the frag somewhere else... sell / donate / trade the remaining frags. no need to kill good coral

i donated all my birdnest frags at my local reef club... I'm sure there will be plenty new reefers that want free sps

Oh yeah, I would never just trash it. I'm not that mean. :) If I had a better spot in the tank maybe I could move it there. I'm afraid if I try to get it out in one big piece it'll be disastrous, it's going to have to come out in chunks. And the poor bandit acro crab... he's so happy in there!

Edit after your edit: I've given a ton away already to new reefers! It's like the gift that keeps on giving. But I can't seem to give it away faster than I have to frag it.

My brother is an hour away from you, if he was a little closer I would ask if he could take a frag back to MN with him when he flies in for Christmas.

It must be something in the air down here where we live cause all these types of corals grow like crazy:lol:

I've had birdsnest , pocillopora and stylophora grow crazy big. I had a mess letting things get out of hand. I finally had to re do the whole upper part of my tank because corals were all intertwined/stuck together.

I guess when you start out you don't realize that sps grow exponentially.
I ended up throwing a lot out...

want some purple stylo .....still have a bunch but I won't let it attach to any rock this time....
