As i told in a recent post (ich/velvet is back) i had 3 fishes in my reef tank (2 blenny 1 chevron tang), Only The chevron showed white spots. Yes indeed i quarentined all but did not treat them prophilatically in quarentine (i will nex time...)

All 3 fishes went to a quarentine tank and interestingly chevron tang do not shows spots anymore (for 2 days...).

Now what should i do?

1- treat with copper. please help me on the level (0.5 with blennies and a tang or 0.4 ?; how fast should i increase copper dose)
2- wait and see if lesions reappear (i know it is not very rational i just want to be sure i will take the best informed decision; i am afraid mainly because of blennies)

Thanks:thumbsup:

Its common for ich infected fish to be "spotless" for a while; then ich re-appears X100. Because no fish are showing spots and lots of things (bits of substrate, etc) are often mistaken for ich; I'd keep them in QT and just watch closely. If ich appears, treat. Let us know and we'll help as needed. If you go 6 weeks with no spots; I think you're OK. You have all the fish out of the DT, so I wouldn't return the fish for at least 8 weeks, regardless. Also, did the tang show spots in the QT prior to going into the DT? What are you using as a bio-filter in the QT?

MrTuskfish,
My quarentine has a skimmer and it is cycled. I QTined the tang and other fishes for 4 weeks, no treatment performed. Tang showed white spots 2 weeks after going to display tank. I must say white spots looked very much as ich/velvet, they started in a pectoral fin (about 2 spots) then others have appeared in the body, they really did not look as subtract or other things (almost sure). Regarding copper meds i only have copper sulphate not cupramine. Is it as safe and has the same efficacy as cupramine ? Also i cant find copper test from seachem. so, if i use cupramine (i can buy it) is it ok to test copper with salifert tests (the only one i found available).

Thanks very much:thumbsup:
