should i remove cannister?

I have a 75g Display with 80lbs LR and a 6in DSB
It overflows into 55g fuge with a protein skimmer, chaeto, and about 35LBS LR.

The water pumped up to display goes through my DIY cannister.

Do I really need this Cannister? It produces air bubbles in short bursts.

I have tried leaving it off for a day or 2..when i shut it off air bubbles shoot out of the bottom, so I know air gets in it some how...but the pumps are all at the bottom of the tank, so somehow it gets in there and its angering me greatly...
I dont have any sponges that I know of, but I have Eagle Eye polyps and Waving hands, who seem to be in there pockets ever since the air bubs...

anyways, my water is perfecto as far as tests go...the filter doesnt produce any nitrites or nitrates or whatever one it is....I am guessing because all the air in it makes it an inverted wet dry lol.

it just makes it hard to get pictures when the bubbles keep making my camera have seizures..

some people say canisters are not necessary with sufficient sand and rock, just want some professional opinion.

p.s. I have no room for a trickle until I empty my tanks and move them out of the way and then put the filter on than move it back and THAT IS nEVER HAPPENING UNTIL I MOVE lol.

Thanks. I know someone will help...this place is full of it

I would take it off line and just setup a regular return, maybe a mag 9 with a valve on top to control the flow. You can use the canister for carbon or ??? and run it in the sump for a couple days at a time, just make sure you change it often.

But yes take that canister off

Ok, I will.

The canister is ran by a little giant @750gph (which I will use as return pump when I remove Canister)

What is the reason I should remove it? is it overkill or just because of the bubbles.
Just curious.
