I currently consists of 2 65w power compact bulbs. Should I upgrade to a t5 system that has 2-24w and 2-24w 460nm actinic lamps? This is on a 20 gallon reef tank. What do you guys think? Thanks for your help.

I meant that my current lighting system consists of..... sorry for the mistake

The lighting 2-65 you have right now is plenty power for 20 gallons size.Maybe it is better you wait until the time you have to replace those PC bulbs(usually in 12 months) and switch it to T-5 to see if there is any difference than the previous lighting set up.

I went from two 65 watt pcs on a 35 gallon soft coral tank to a four bulb Tek t-5 setup and me and my corals love the new light. I personally will be staying with t-5's

Im not sure how old the power compacts that I have are because I bought the set up off of craigslist. I plan on having a mixed reef tank. I wasnt really looking to spend a lot of cash on this one because even though Im new to this hobby, i think im addicted. So most likely I would be upgrading to a much larger tank. But figured a nice lighting system for this one would allow me to start keeping some nicer sps corals now and would come in handy later as a secondary tank like a quarantine. So far it sounds like upgrading would be a good idea, any other comments?
