Should we have another Auction Before Christmas?

I know a few poeple missed the July auction and many of our tanks have grown out since then. I also know a few of us have been changing or moving our systems which means plenty of used equipment surfacing.

Do we want to work out an auction in the next couple months?

It would be nice to have another one and then we can use it to vote in a new Board of Directors for GIRS also.

The big thing is who is going to take the initiative and organize it? It does not have to be a board member. I would offer but my month of November is pretty much filled up already with a long vacation, work and hunting. We may want to look into getting a hotel conference room. I think Jeff Schense brought that up at the last auction and I though it was a good idea too.

Even though it would mean the longest drive for the QC'ers I think a DSM area meeting would be nice. I've never been out there for GIRS stuff and I'd like to see the LFS and some local tanks.

Do you have connections with a local hotel? If not, it would make no difference to set something up with a local hotel or a hotel somewhere else.

Maybe a poll is needed.

How much would a hotel cost? Too bad we dont know someone with a nice warm garage or something, the Amvets here in Edale was decent sized.

I don't have any connections that will get us in cheap. I just know a couple that I have dealt with in the past that would be capable of handling us and it would be nice to have something on this end. Best travel for most will still be Iowa City though.

No..you did not miss anything. We nominate and vote new Board Members in every year at this time.

If I am still living in IA I am finally going to make this one. Not sure if I have a new job at the end of the year or not. I would love to finally join and see what all this is about.

Also depending on where it is my wife works for Hampton Inn and can get good deals at Hilton and Hampton.

Sounds to me like you get to choose the location. When you say good deal.... How good is it?

Well my vote is for the IA city area. It's the most central for everyone. Also when are we planning on doing this?
