Thanks for the compliments. The sps growth cannot be attributed to the tank flow as the sps are recent additions.

I have owned a 145 and a 190 - both rectangle. The 3 viewing angles and the 3D depth of a cube are wonderful. The fish also gain 3 dimensional swim patterns rather than a more 2 dimensional back and forth pattern in a rectangle tank.

That being said, a cube type tank can be harder to place in a room sometimes and can be more difficult to light. There are many fabulous rectangle tank set ups that surpass my humble set up. I don't see myself owning anything but a cube like tank in the future.

I'll jump back in on this thread, it's come back from the dead.

Man I love these big cubes. I'm in the process of setting up a 37g oceanic "cube" so this thread has been great for me. Can't wait to have the room for a 30x30x28 cube though.

MadTownMax: I see you have an OM Squirt on your tank. I want to go with one too. How do you have the inlet plumbed?

Anyone have any pics of really large cubes setup? Like 60x60?

I am wanting to set up a 60x60 but the only one I have seen is just empty.

1" pvc inlet tube over the back (u-tube intak) and down about 3' to a mag 9.5, then back up 3/4" pvc to the inlet. I use a zip-tie to hold the the top of the inlet tube and the Squirt togather (not in the picture) to help keep it compact and steady on the edge.

There are unions plumbed in next to the squirt and next to the inlet for quickly taking it all apart if I have to - It's only happened once so far in 3 months and I've been removing my sand bed, so that's to be expected.

Oceanic 37g owners, do you know if Oceanic makes a canopy for this tank?

not that I know of. I made my own. I was considering asking a guy on nano-reefs.com to make me one (he makes them for nano cubes) but I'm guessing it would cost as much as the tank and stand combined:eek1: a little too $$$ for me.

Looking for a bit of input on lighting for my cube-ish. It's 36X36X24, doing mostly SPS. I'm looking at the maristar fixtures by sunlight supply. Will 2 24" fixtures (250W) be enough or should I hold out until I can get the 36" with (2X250W)? I know from some of the other threads that some of you are using these same pendants, what do you think?

Has anyone tried out Oceansmotions Squirt? I got one for x-mas and i'll be hooking it up this upcoming weekend. But I'm not sure how i should set it up. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. thanks!
