iantoh,

Your Goni's look like they're exploding!! They look great! Any tips for folks who are feeling adventurous?

Nick

thanks nick- no great tips though. just the usual. i allow a slight film of diatoms to cover my sandbed to provide some in tank phyto via their spores. i also feed about a small dose of live phyto every day at the start of the lighting cycle, and also perform fortnightly sand bed removal (i suck out a thin top layer of sand as i do my fortnightly water change, and add in two cups of sand to make up thereafter). oh, and i skim wet and get aobut 400ml of skimmate a day and replace that with new seawater and thats basically it. i love gonios, and mine seem to love low flow, so the trade off is that i have to do more work in terms of cleaning, but otherwise, going great so far.

...realise i put up a thumbnail last time i posted a pic of my tank so heres a larger pic of my humble 30g nano:

that is sweet

i've seen vert do that w/ his CBB. how did you get yours to do that??

Lunchbucket

I usually feed my other fish that way and after a few days the CBB decided to take a crack at it. The only fish that hasn't eaten out of my hand is the Trigger but he's getting more comfortable and I have no doubt he will soon, hopefully he won't leave scars...lol

My hands are always in the tank so in time the fish get used to it and don't run for cover. Once they associate your hands with a meal your all set:D

i NEVER put my hands in the tank...mabye once every 2 wks. so this might be hard. but if i dangle a mysis from inbetween my fingers it might work!!

I have a red one and a black one in there, the black one usually comes out on feeding day. If you look closely on the left side shot you can see him there upside down in the rock work (his spot). They have been great in the reef, very gentle around the coral, they just kind of glide around looking for food. But on feeding day (every three days) they are like a couple of begging dogs and come out to follow any passerby.
