Show me Your Fancy STANDS!!!

I don't know if I have already posted a pic of my stand in this thread or not, but here it is. It is a 24"x 24" x 37" tall metal frame with PVC board panels.

AJO, Nice stand. Is it on wheels?, looks like it in one of the pics and then it looks to have adjustable legs on the sides. I'm assuming to take the load off the wheels, if so, nice idea to be able to move it around if needed.

This is my 8 gallon quarantine tank...lol. Well that's what I told her...

We took an antique dresser, removed the bottom two drawers and added a wine rack. Then we removed the top and stripped and refinished it. Then we added a solid granite top. The top alone weighs a freaking ton. I had it cut in the states than shipped it over in our house hold goods when we moved to Japan. I didn't even get to test fit it. Thank god I actually measured something correct for a change...
Somebody posted awhile back about using granite top all I did was put the tank on a thin rubber mat... Its lasted through 4 earthquakes kind of strange to see water flying out the sides of your tank.

The wine rack... I love it! :inlove:

I'm not sure I ever posted finished pictures of mine, well not quite finished. I was waiting on the door clips still when this picture was taken, but you get the idea. The tank in this pic is no longer either.. it was replaced with a new tank.

Sweet, that is going to look so nice once you get the tank up and gong. I remember your initial post. You have put a lot of work into that. Well done. :)

I am looking for a place on-line or local to buy two cabinet doors for my stand. I know most places don't want to mess with two doors. I saw a link to a supplier in this thread or the DIY stand thread, but I can't seem to find it now.

Where did everyone get their doors if you did not make them yourself. I need two doors 20" x 24".

Thanks

I have having a difficult time finding a place that will make just two cabinet doors - most have a minumum door order of 5 or more. I need two doors both 22 x 20. Any ideas?

If I can't buy the finished door, does any place just sells the milled cabinet frame stock that I can cut and assemble my own door using a birch ply insert? I have not found it at the usual places.

Thanks for the help.

This is a stand for a 90 gallon cube. It is made from Padauck wood and the color you see is the natural color no stain was used. Before someone ask the bottom has a x brace to handle the load under the stand.

Milkman, check my post a few up. I have some links that I think do not have a minimum order. GL

Very nicely done metal stand. Did you cut your vortec cord to get it through the stand?

Heres my stand that im working on right now. It is the first time I have ever tried wood working so im rather proud of it. Only tools I had was a borrowed circular saw, miter saw, trim nailer and a jig saw.

I decided to skin it in Maple. Cherry looked nice but was out of my price range.
I had to settle for oak doors though.

Here it is skinned. My dads compressor crapped out on me just as I was getting ready to hang the final piece of trim. Set me back a day.

Stained and with first coat of finish on.

I went with cabernet for the stain color. It matches the red maple cabnets I have in throughout the house.

Just another 4 hours before I can put the next coat on. What grit sand paper should I use on polyurethane? After the second coat it will sit for about 15 hours before I can put another coat on.

This is my custom stand. The tank is sitting on a steel stand and skinned by friend of mine who does concrete work. So the top/sides are concrete panels and the front door is a custom kitchen cabinet from Thomasville.
