Show me Your Fancy STANDS!!!

Here is mine. It's built around a 90 gallon tech tank. I'm working on an overall build document. I'll post it soon...

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL QSWO there Metal! One of my favorite species (by far). I would love to see the build document once you get it finished.

I picked up about 30bf of some pretty flakey QSWO from a local mill a few months ago and have not fully decided what do build with it yet.

would also like to share mine here goes!

Do you have it narrowed down to a few ideas? anything fish related?

Im in need of a small console to hold my Cable Receiver, DVD player, and Internet modem, so that will likely end up as my project. Im pretty much finished with all of my tank-related carpentry (at least until the next time we move.... :D) and really need to focus on furniture. I really like the arts + crafts style, especially the QSWO part!

Here is a stand we built for my 120g. Pine and laminate built around 4x4's, I think it has a more modern look rather than traditional.

Doors on all sides allow for this tank to be set up as a peninsula as well (we are military, so who knows what our next house will be like!)

The sump area has a 3" sealed lip to protect the room against overflows. (As well as a Bullfrog alert)

A marble and "big leaf maple burl" wood ledge makes a great surface to add decorative items (and test kits, food, etc).

The canopy has slotted vents for fans, as well as a double layer of vents at the top to keep light in but let heat out.

The canopy has 6 doors as well, but the entire front can also lift up (piano hinge) to allow easy access to the light fixture. The lights are also on a pull-out rack so bulb changes are easy. :)

While it's not super fancy or finished ,lol, I like the way my tank ties in with my wainscoting.

I'll miss this tank :(

Wow, now this is awesome!!!!!!!! Did you build this yourself? Do you have a build thread? :eek2:

CBR guy: I really like how this matches your house. Very nice work. I thought about doing something like that, but the fiance would not let me! :o

MarineGirl - Thank you! My husband and I designed and built it ourselves. No, we don't have a build thread, but I guess we should start one. There's about 200+ man-hours in it, so we're quite happy with it.
