Show me your frag/prop tanks

You can also use the pink stuff, but I really hated that for photography. It's just white styrofoam, something like 1/2 thick. It's just used to distribute weight incase there is a pressure point. People suggest using the pink stuff because it is "high density" and yes, the tank is used for more than just a hobby, but that's not what this thread is about.

Here are some specs:
4x4' acrylic tank with 1" sides and 3/8" bottom by ReefMania
Lights are 4x110w VHO actinics and 4x54 t5 whites off IC660
Return pump is a Sequence Dart - 3600gph
Skimmer is a ReefMania PS-8
Sump is a custom design using overflow style dividers also built by ReefMania.

In total there are 16 holes and 12 true unions.

I will be setting mine up soon. It is going to be an acrylic 3'x3'x14" tank. It will be lit by one lumenarc reflector with a 400watt 20k bulb. I figure it wll be perfect spread and my softies/zoos will be on the outer 6" although the spread of light should be perfect still.

Here is a picture of my 60g (24X48X12) frag tank. I bought a light mover so I can cut my lighting down to one bulb, but I haven't found the time to hook it up yet.

u guys suck lol my display is a 65 gallon and im lucky to have 1/2 the frags u guys have in this tank

I hear ya! Im 19 too, and have a 75gallon... and trying so despartatly to set up my 210gallon BUT ITS NOT WORKING FOR ME RIGHT NOW!

makes me mad just thinking about it! errrrrrr

Where do you guys get these shallow tanks from.......or do you have them made? All I'm looking for is a 2x2 12"tall for a frag tank. I think I'm going to try to make one out of acrylic.

Danny

I personally think so. When I add mine, mine will be seperate. All new additions will go in there. If it gets red bugs or whatever, no biggie.

my new arrivals go thru a series of baths before entering my frag tank that is tied to the main system.

Freed the tank is 9" tall, but has a water level of around 8."

Lunch, whenever you make it over to TCMAS land, you should stop by.

I just switch mine out every once and while. Let the old ones dry out and then blast the coraline algae off with a garden hose.. :D

Tim

Here's mine. Its actually a q-system, but I have a couple frags recovering from AEFW, so I guess it qualifies as a "frag tank"(?) The whole setup fits nicely under my main tank inside the stand.
