i just got my little teeny tiny 4" gigas (thats an oxymoron, isnt it?) and would like to see the big boys when he gets older!

i've had him for two weeks and already he has grown more than a 1/4".

It's now part of my filter for my SPS tank.

his shell has grown (the white new growth) in that short of a time...

My friend has his gigas in my tank also. It was the size of yours when he purchased it from barry a year or so ago. Now it's larger than mine(the one shown above).

yikes dave!

how big can these guys get? i always wanted a gigas...so when i saw one, i snatched it up pretty fast.

i thought my 180g would be big enough for it...now, i am wondering that i may need a bigger tank!

I got it from big*gigas and he's had it about 6 years. When he bought it from me it was about 2"-3". I just set up that tank and plumbed it to my display as a place to keep it as he wanted to get rid of it and I didn't have any other place to put it and I certainly didn't know anyone that wanted it/could take it. It's still a baby.

What is a good price for these guys? around 2" to 2 1/2" I saw one at the LFS for $59!! I got my 4" crocea for 60!! are these more expensive? thanks

i paid $30 for mine but this was at black coral here in socal, which is sort of a wholesaler that opens its doors to the public on certain days and times.

i also paid about that much for a 3" green teardrop maxima.

florida prices are probably going to be a little higher.
