I've used tank cleaning magnets.

I bought a magnetic thermometer for 3 dollars at Petco and cut off the thermometer part, and super glued a normal algae clip. Works awesome, I'll take a picture if anyone wants me too. I know the one magnetic veggie clip is awesome but can't beat 3 bucks for a completely dependable algae clip.

I'd like to pass along an idea I got from another RC member. When you fold the Nori in half, cut it into strips leaving a uncut area at the bottom where you attach the clip. Before I did that, I had big hunks of seaweed floating around the tank. When you cut it into strips, the fish are able to eat whole strands of it and there's less waste. Check out the video I showed in the second post above.

Great idea...will have to try that. My tangs (mostly my orange shoulder) enjoy ripping it from the end and then it floats around until I see it and have to put it back in. My blue face has a powerful bite towards it as well.

Thanks, unfortunately I sold that tank.

I agree with the shredding of the nori. I never bothered cutting it, I just tore strip like rips into it with my fingers.

You guys sure do like a mess of nori in your tank huh :lmao:

I tried the clips and magnets, huge pieces of nori everywhere.

Now I still get pieces with this

but not as big and not as many.

Here is mine. Basically, I took a 3/4" pvc support hook and superglued a silicone coated magnet to it. Here's some pics. What I really like about it is it hooks on to my eggcrate lids and I don't have to get my hands wet at all to use it.
