show me your oddball fish!

Crouchers? I've never seen those before. But they look awesome! What exactly are they? And are they reef safe?

They are relative of the scorpionfish that perch on stony corals like clown gobies. They are reef safe but they are venomous. I'm pretty sure they stay small. I believe around 2-3inches. I have never had one but I have read that they are very shy.

I had one in a 20g nano for a long time. Great fish. Reminded me of the hawkfish I have had in the past. Just sort of hung out and waited for food to come by. Never bothered any fish or corals and I don't remember having a problem with the clean up crew either. It was definitely a fish with "personality" and its eyes seemed to follow you around the room, especially during feeding time.

They are a scorpion version of a clown goby IMO. I have one that is shy and one that hides. I don't even think they get 2", mine are around 1.5". The only danger these guys could pose in a reef is if you have sexy shrimp, everything else would be alright.

Just a comment...Erosa erosa is a temperate species and should be kept below 70*F. We keep ours at 68*F.
