show me your SPS with T5's

If you guys that post pics could also include the set up specs for your bulb combinations I would much appreciate it. I am going to be setting up a new tank soon with T-5's and would like to figure out what 4 bulb combination to use. Very nice tanks so far, and Duec22 I plan on doing a 29 with 4 t-5s also nice set up.
Thanks

Newschool- beautiful tank. Do us all a favor and get a generator. It would be a shame if [we] lost that tank again.

Crappy shot but here's mine.

nanoreefboy, right now I'm running 2x Aquablue plus and 3x Actinic plus all Giesemann bulbs...the sixth bulb is over my HOB fuge...Right now the bulbs sit aobut 2" over the water surface and I've been thinking of going with more of an arch to get better coverage on the bases and sides of the acros...I've also been thinking about changing out one of the actinics for either another aquabule plus or another 10-12k bulb by another manufac. Just to try and see what happens when I boost the PAR some more.

A couple more of my fav corals top down...

I wish it was that easy, I live in the city in a condo. Getting a generator is no problem but being lucky enough to be at home when the power goes to start it up seems to be the problem!
We were out of town for the New Year celebration when the power went out. I had no idea that when I was partying the night away, back in Chicago my reef was dying.

That's a huge clam my2girls! Looks very healthy.

Do you keep your lights on when you do water changes?

It's a big Squamosa. Raised it from a baby. :D

I turn the middle 4 bulbs off and leave the 2 outside blues on during water changes. This way I can see what I'm doing and not burn my arms. The fixture is a TEK 6 x 54 normally driven (of course). I slide it back a few inches during water changes.

I could tell because your corraline on the back wall is white. If you want to keep the red and pink colors, turn your lights off when you do your water changes. Also, you can go to a local hardware store and buy a 95 cent plastic razor holder and scrape that right off with absolutely no problem. Mine was totally encrusted and I did it and will never not do it. Makes the corals stand out even more!

Not crappy at all!!!!!!

Thanks for the tip. I think I will tackle the back glass this weekend. Can you elaborate on the white corraline, lights on during water changes, and keeping reds and pinks? I've never heard of that before. I'll try anything that will give me better color.

I have found that when I keep the lights on when I do my water changes, the corraline on my back wall and even some of the exposed rock would bleach and turn white. I tried the water change without lights and noticed that the corraline didn't bleach at all.
I'm pretty sure it's because the corraline is sensitive to light and without the water barrier, it either bleaches or dies.
I think you will be pleasantly surprised on how much more color and depth a cleaned back glass will give you. And it really is easy, should take you 2 minutes as long as you have a good plastic holder for the blade. Good luck and post pics after you scrape it all off!!!

thats actualy a light tan cap with purple to baby blue polyps. The polys are more purle down low and go to a baby blue the closer thy are to the lights.

That makes all the difference in the world! Looks great!!
Did you get one of those plastic razor holders? Easy, right?

Thanks bro. It was well worth the effort. I think the overflow is too far gone (but maybe I'll attack it next weekend).

Overflow is tough, the plastic of the overflow doesn't take to the razor very well. I'd just leave it or glue a nice small monticap to the overflow and watch it take off.
Now you just need some sand in there and you'll be good to go! ;)
