Thanks :)

It's a T1i with a 100mm 2.8F Canon macro lense on a tripod with the room lights off and blue LEDs on. I shoot in AV and I'd have to confirm from the RAW pic but I think I shot the pic at ~7.1F. The exposure was I think about -1 that's usually what I shoot at.

The key for me is to shoot in RAW then set the white balance and color levels/curve in photoshop since its impossible to get the white balance right with the LEDs. Actually I'd imagine regardless of your lighting shooting in RAW is the way to go.

This link was my tutorial for post shot processing:

http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/digital_photo_post.php

It took me some time to get good at it but like the writer says, once you start it only takes minutes to complete pictures now.

some acans and my trach. first two pics are of the same one just under different lighting. (sorry for the crappy picture quality).

hi!

We don't have these amazingly colored acans, chalice and trachyphyllia here in France, and when from time to time it does happen, it is only for the "happy few" who can afford them...

so thanks for this eye candy thread!

Here is my pride, it's quite hard to find here:

Those look great in Actinic lighting. Do they keep their color in regular lighting?
If so, they are masterpieces!

Not mine, but the collection of a good friend. These are the ones that our collector mates don't send across the water...

My photos don't show it so well, but this tank is the very definition of the world "ultra" :) currently in the process of migrating all the livestock into a totally new system...

Once the new system is complete. These were just test shots I took for him to compare the look of halides and T5, I don't have others under full spectrum unfortunately. He was using 2x150W halides so we didn't want to fry them under my 10x Powermodule.

The new tank should be ready in about a month or so which is when I'll get some more shots.
