Show off your ANGELS!

When I tried that, she just went for the live brine and left the other stuff. These are my first fish (I've added a pair of 1 1/2 inch grammas) and I don't want to take a chance on overfeeding the tank and having ammonia issues.

Here's a couple of mine. Joculator Majestc and regal. More to come

Hikari sells a spirulina enriched brine shrimp, might try mixing that with the live brine. If your Regal is taking the Angel Formula, then you're doing well so far. Remember, this is a process, and what you're really trying to do, is get the fish to recognize as many items as food, as possible.

Great looking pics everyone.

which angel is hardier? the annularis angel Pomacanthus annularis, or the blue girdled angelfish Euxiphipops navarchus?

The Annularis is an easier angel to adapt to captivity....but they get HUGE.....like 17 inches in length. Definately need a very large tank for something like that. Personally, I wouldnt put an Angel that gets to that size in anything less than a 240 gallon tank.

The Navarchus is a much smaller angel, reaching a max size of about 9-10 inches.

Nick

according to live aquaria, both of them reach one foot in length. You're right about the tank size though, probably will need a larger tank, currently have a 100g. Will look into a potters first I guess, or a smaller angel.

I've seen Annularis angels a good deal larger than a foot in length. As far as the Navarchus goes, depending on the dimensions of your tank, you could get away with one.

my tank is 50 cm tall, 50cm wide, and 150cm long, think that can work? think in inches it would be the equivalent to 20x20x60

yeah, I think that would work. They are a shy fish so will need some rockwork to hide in, but it should have a fair amount of swimming space too...

Nick

Just a few new ones of my Potter's pair that I took last night.

What you looking at Willis? ;) ((( the white spot was in the water, not on the fish )) This is the smaller one.

And the larger one giving me the stare down.

Too bad they're not fat and healthy Todd.....

:)

Great looking fish!

Nick

Thanks.

Might have to send them to Weight Watchers. And when I do fed the tank, they act like it has been weeks since I fed them, darn pigs.

Wow, Todd, those potters are gorgeous! Never been a huge huge fan of them, but yours has me thinking!

Here is another pic of my passer, who I may have to find a new home for :(

and yes, he's aggressive and tailfanning that 32" BDM eel!

Well, got the bad news yesterday. All three fish (regal and 2 baby grammas) were showing signs of Ich. The regal had grown a couple spots after I got him into my tank, but then they dropped off. I was hoping they wouldn't come back, but they did. Classic cryptocaryon. The spots fell off during the night, then reappeared on ALL of the fish about a week later.

Removed all 3 fish to my new 20 gallon Q-tank. Pulled a few bio-balls out of my trickle filter and put them into a Fission Subcurrent internal trickle filter I bought for the Q-tank. The filter is rated for tanks up to 30 gallons so I should be OK. The filter is a surface-skimming design. No signs of any ammonia yet.

Started bringing the salininty in the Q-tank down to the 1.009 therapeutic level for hyposalinity treatment today. Removed 4 gallons of tank water and replaced with 4 gallons of declorinated, buffered fresh water. SG is now 1.185, PH is 8.2 and temp is 78.7.

After an initial period of shock, all of the fish are eating and alert. The Regal ate 2 nice-sized pieces each of angel formula and mysis and is continually grazing on a piece of alge-covered rock I put into the Q-tank from the display.

I hope she makes it. She's really pretty and could grow into a nice centerpeice fish.

Nick, thanks. That pic is about 8 months old, hes a little bit bigger and more into his adult colors. I'd love for him to get streamers.

sweygptian, he is extremely aggressive. I don't want to get rid of him, but currently he is under my brothers care at his house. He'd murder my little angels in my 210g. I am trying to find a way to keep him, since my brother can't probably.
