Keeping in mind that these are photographed under sunlight (5500K or so)

Here is a walkthrough of my greenhouse prop system:

I wish you best!

how do you guys keep your frag/prop system clean of algae??
I started a thread on fish for frag tanks for that reason. Depending on the size of tank, tangs make great choices. Currently, I'm stuck with snails and smaller fish because I frag in 40 breeders. I'm looking for a lawnmower blenny and a yellow coris wrasse at the moment to try adding.

The other end of this is nutrient control. Keeping nitrates and phosphates down. I have several macroalgae species in my sump and that helps.

Coraline algae (which is a royal PITA for me) out competes it.

Good maintenance practices help as well (nutrient in nutrient out)

Fish yeah a little.

Time as the system matures the algae disappears.

Thanks, I looked at your thread.. Some good info in there, I only have a 20gal frag system setup. so a tang is too big. I currently have a sixline in it cause he is not being a good boy. Chasing my wrasse around, lol..

But I was planning to either get a algae blenny or a couple of turbo snail. But not sure of the snail as they will know down all my frags, lol.

Yeah, i hope so. Right know its like a planted tank with alot of hair algae.. It's plump to my main tank, but my main tank is pretty clean. Just maybe a one or two small batch here and there..

Algae removal is very important, so we rely on fish and snails, but we also aggressively manage our liverock. If we see something we don't like growing on a piece of live rock, we are not shy about taking out the whole rock and sterilizing it.

Same goes for the eggcrate shelves. We typically swap out old shelves for recently cleaned ones.

Or even better, have one of the acrylic wizards like GEO build acrylic shelves instead. One of the issues with eggcrate is the fact inverts have a very difficult time navigating it.

here is my contribution. a little tank, but it sure holds alot..

so far the leds are great, amazing color and i haven't had them long enough to see any really crazy growth. the acans absolutely love the leds, some of the palys are getting to like it.
