I bought this one from DD a couple months ago. Right now, it is less mint color, but still looks good. When I have time, I will update the current one as well.
Please show your Strawberry Shortcake for me!

Oh...my...God!!!! That's got to be the nicest one I've ever seen. Lots of strawberry in that shortcake. Great score!

Yup that is very nice, actually what should be the placement for the ssc? If the ssc lost the green, is it due to too much or too little light? Thanks.

I'd like to know also. I heard lower in the tank, but mine has lost most of the green. Thinking of moving it up.

I have the DFS version of the Strawberry Shortcake, I forget what they call it....I keep my frag up high and to the left of the direct lights and it has kept the intense green. I have very red polyps...when they peak out, not much polyp extension on this particular coral in my tank. The pink corallites are somewhat muted, really muted compared to that picture above which is incredibly gorgeous :D. I think as it grows and develops into a colony I will get much more of the pink corallites. Try moving yours up into higher light and see if the green returns.
I've noticed that my Tierra Del Fuego has really colored up as it has grown. The pink has developed tremendously. It is a much faster growing coral than my DFS shortcake.

Im hoping to find a frag of this in Canada one day :(

just beautiful.

chances are good ! this is a wild/maricultured coral from australia and we are getting colonies here in quebec on a regular basis.

here's my little frag !

I believe the DFS shortcake was called the northwoods pink lemonade.

I have the original Unique corals version and it is drop dead gorgeous. Took awhile to get going but now that it has it's a stunner! With so many imports around it can be hard to find a hardy strain. The UC version is bulletproof!

I got a "ssc" a year ago but I think its actually something else. Its really yellow and pink but it tables. All the pics I see of shortcakes are wild colonies, I still haven't seen one grown out in a reef tank! So really I don't know what its supposed to look like... *waits for more pics...*

Yeah, I want to see the captive grown one. Wild SSC is really hardy, but might be difficult to keep the original color.

Mine is getting a bunch of light, very high flow, still more pink than green though. I attribute it to alk issues that I am dealing with at the moment. Mine also has been encrusting like a boss. I mean a lot. Like it has grown approximately 1/8" up, but has encrusted literally 2" around. weird. eh, hopefully it will look like those amazing pics above soon!

ss.........

ss.........

mine looks bright pink, minty green, with light noen green, wish i knew how to post pictures?............my pink is even brighter than that first picture, half wway up to the side,250w elos,95w vhos.....

Here's a pic of mine. I've been meaning to take a more recent and better pic - hopefully this weekend. I grew it from a frag from my lfs.

That is a jaw dropper, :eek2:.

How long did it take to grow to that size? Can't wait for mine to start looking like that. Taka, you have a beautiful piece also.
