I'm no expert but I had a 120 with 2 of these Tangs, the Sailfin and the Hippo. I assume this 120 is 4'x2'x2'?

They got along great but they were only in this tank together for about a year and a half. The Sailfin was about 6" and the Hippo about 5" when they went into a 180.

I think when you include the Yellow Tang you will eventually have too many fish.

What it looks like to me is that you need to start planning a larger tank. :D

Your tank looks great, just imagine what you could do with something bigger!

oh if you only knew-----it's only a matter of convincing my wife:eek2:
I don't think the "this only cost 20 bucks" method is going to work when a 220 arrives

OK, I picked up a 6-7 inch Sohol for my new 265 and he's in QT for a couple weeks. I'll get a pic asap.

Don't hold your breath though, might bust something. :-)

Help ID the pattern difference

Help ID the pattern difference

Both are about 2.5" but one with blue spots on the body and the other doesn't...is this a sex difference?

Well I thought I would jump on the band-wagon as well. Since I read that this is not a Powder Brown it is a what ever you want to call it. I call it a Powder Brown.

Tank - 72gbow
Tang - Powder Brown
Name- Lilly

I've had "her" for almost a year now and she is about 4.5" long. I love this fish, she will eat right out of my hand. I call her a she because I got her when my wife and I thought we were going to have another baby and I wanted a daughter. So she is a she ;)

nice tangs yes that is a powder brown. As for you flameangle they look great and i think that there is a sex difference i think the male is the one with no dots and the female is with the dots. I am not sure but thats what i think.

Thanks. I actually thought it was the other way around where males are usually more colorful but wasn't sure if region difference has anything to do with patterns in this case.

I would say the all silver one is what they call a humpnose unicorn tang (Naso tuberosus) and the one with spots on it is a lopezi or vlamingi tang. Your two tangs are differant types of tangs. hth

also to say why I said a lopezi or vlamingi, its very hard to tell the difference between these two. they are sometimes miss labled in stores and are very hard to tell the difference between.

LA Diver's Den have both:

My lfs has a 6-7" Vlamingii Tang in the 600g display tank and it's beautiful and appreciated their beauty much more then in the picture.
