sdguy - very nice tank

mkbtank - that Sohal is beautiul! Looks huge!

i think this thread need some advertising. Maybe you could help out here reeftanks6 on your build thread?

LOL I have been advertizing it alot--anytime a person asks a question about a tang I refer them here. Its also good to refer people to when they are asking what size of tank they should have to keep a specific species of tang

the best advertising is to keep up the posts because the thread is shown again in the daily and new posts searches.

I assume that is a typo --did you mean 280 gal as listed in your signature.
I ask this because in a year or so upgrading will become an issue for me and am wondering what size to go up too eventually

280 gallons total water volume, with the sump and fuge. Maybe I should change the signature.

Go as big as you can fit!! - (It will save another upgrade later on)

Lol, If i went as big as i could fit, id end up with a living room made out of water:D

as the story goes there is a guy in Toronto that build his house around a 50,000gal circular tank in the middle of it
I have heard the story many times but I still can't substantiate it even with running a thread here
If it is true--wow--can you imagine watching the superbowl surrounded by 50,000 gals of swiming tangs--kinda like that Telus commercial:lol:

Awesome Tangs Everyone....Naso is my Favorite

I've got a 2-1/2 - 3" naso in QT right now. I wasn't going to get a tang for my 75 but I couldn't resist him. He was the smallest naso I've seen and he looked so sad in the 10 gal at the LFS. He looks a little thin at the moment but he's been eating like a hog. I hope he fattens up like some of the other beautiful Naso tangs I saw here.

Thanks! Yes, they are very beautiful!

Well, I've had the tank up and running for about 2 years now, and about 7 months ago I decided to totally change my stocking. I sold my old fish to some locals and added the PT in September. Its about 4-5". It came from two reefers before me, so this is its 3rd tank. Very hardy fish.

The Sohal I bought in November. Its about 5". It was brought into a LFS, then went to a locals tank (75 gallon) and was a terror. The person brought it back to the LFS and it sat there for about 6 months.

It eats like a pig though. I keep feeding it more and more and I can already see why people say they grow fast. Its aggression is also growing and it has assumed the dominant position in the tank. I added new fire shrimp the other day and the Sohal made very short work of it :( Very mean fish, yet so beautiful!
