Another way to identify a picasso is by thier "chops" , you can see a very good shot of the chop on the clown on the right of this pic that basser1 put up...

These little guys look awesome. I saw one somewhere in this forum that was almost completely white. I think it was called whitewall or something like that.
How much do these guys go for?

I wanted a pair of normal perculas and thought I got one but he turned out to be a maroon instead. I can't complain because I got him for free. :| I talked to that person today and she's giving me another maroon tomorrow. I'm afraid they might be to aggressive though so I'll probably have to get rid of them. I'm gonna try to pair them up first and then sell them as a pair.

my pair... I had to part with them due to tank move... I will get them back once the new tank is up and running.

Very nice clowns jjackson.

I found some called misbar at a LFS that I also thought looked interesting. They only have the white bar around the gills. I wonder how the offspring of one of those with a picasso would look like.

Here's mine I got back in August. This pic is when I first got them. Since then, the black outlines have gotten considerably darker and more black, particularly on the back behind the white eye stripe. I'll try to post an updated photo soon.

I think so hexedagain. What's the difference? Looks like a picasso with more white to me.

These are bred in the UK by one guy. Just alot more white on them, and more than double what a pair of Picassos cost is the only difference I see.

Plus the fact that Picasso's are 100% true perc where snowflakes are occ. or maybe half true & half false percs.

True, I forgot to add that. LOL.
Snowflakes are Ocellaris.

I was wondering if the picasso's white marking spread as they get older? For example, do your clowns look different from the day you bought them?

They can fill in alittle more white but most are pretty near full "white" color when you get them.

The ones maximus posted are an example of some that have a tiny bit to fill in. Notice the tail bars look alittle faded, they will fill in completly. Also his bottom clown, at the bottom of the 2nd stripe it looks faded also, that will finish filling in. Thats about it though & thats about the extent of extra white I've seen any ora's fill in after they ship them out. :) hope this helps.
