Show your Anemone Tanks

Do they ever move onto rocks when roaming? Or will they stay within the confines of a limited sand area?

I'll be having a BB tank with a smaller enclosed track with sand. Was just wondering if that will limit a Hadoni from "exploring" the rest of the tank.

All of mine have always stayed on/in the sandbed when they were moving.

Why are you going BB? Reason I ask is that Haddonis are not a fan of a lot of flow. With having just a track of sand you are limiting where it can move, which could lead to problems if it isn't happy with the track of sand area.

yes i was planning on a high flow SPS. I just came across this thread and thought maybe it'd be possible to have an anemone in the tank if I could keep it isolated on the "ground floor".

The tank I showed above is fairly high flow ( 3500 GPH in a 58 ). It took some work, but found spots for my Haddonis where the flow isn't a high and as direct. Just worried that your sand track might not match up with those spots.

How much sand depth is needed for the Haddoni?

All of mine are in tanks that have about a 2" sand bed ( give or take ).
They seem to be happiest right at the sandbed/rock interface.

ALWAYS put your anemone in first. Dont make the same mistake i did.

My Haddoni only has about 2 inches of sand as well. He seems content and never moves.

I guess I like all anems...so wouldn't hurt my feelings to only have a couple different kind. But would like them placed all over the rocks and sand...so whatever would work good for that.

I'm digging the tank pictured with all the RBTA...those are sweet...I have a couple friends locally to me that have red and green ones so I might be able to get one fairly easy. I think I'm more into BTA and LTA more than I am carpets...

also...whats a great online place to get NICE anems. I saw some nice ones at atlantis...I have good luck with the sps from there...but never bought an anem online...and not sure where to look.

plus...I'll share my other part of the plan. I have a local guy breeding false percs and I planned on getting about 20 when they are very young...whats your thoughts on this...I've heard they can do well when hatched and growing up together

That's a shame. They were a nice pair.

Here is my "combo" tank.
This pic was taken in April of this year. The purple based H. magnifica on the upper right has now stung the yellow leather to death after living together peacefully for a year.
In the upper left is a teal gigantea carpet. I transplanted the purple sebae to the right side of the tank for the orange skunks when the foam came off my powerhead and the mag decided to go for a stroll and got chewed up. It has since recovered and is bigger than ever and the skunks use both anemones now.
