Pectinia Pics.....

Resurrecting on old Thread.....

Here are pics of my 1st Pectinia.....that I burnt and almost managed to kill under my LEDs. I'm happy to say it has since recovered. :)

This is what it looked like at the LFS where I purchased it from:

The following are pics in my Display (before it burnt and stripped):

Here are pics of my 2nd Pectinia - it fared much better than my 1st (I placed it in an area sheltered from direct light).

This is what it looked like at the LFS where I purchased it from (different than the first LFS):

This is what it looked like in my display. Pictures of the healthy flesh underneath it are also enclosed for reference.

How hard are these to keep? LA shows them as difficult, but I've been told they're easy if properly handled during collection & shipping.

There not to difficult to keep just keep your parameters in check keep in mind though they have pretty long sweeper tentacles at least the 2 I have do I have them medium to high flow and medium to high light under 150w halides.

Start them out like a chalice....in low light and low flow and gradually move them towards the mid level point you like it placed. These corals seem to 'burn' easily under higher light. They are happy in low light, low flow conditions in my experience.

Mine is near the top of the tank with pretty decent flow. I have it positioned to avoid stinging sweepers which can reach pretty darn far

What did you do to get it to stop receding and turn it into the right direction?
I just got one that looks like it went through a rough shipping. It's not too bright and pretty dull color wise. It is also receding on all the tips. Looks like shipping stress. I don't want it to get any worse and want it o brighten up.
