hi i was wondering what people had as showpeice fishes in ther tanks? just got a new tank and am looking for a show fish, as of now i have a pink anthias and a scopas tang, any suggestions will greatly appreciated too

A lot is going to depend on the size tank you have and if reef safeness is going to be a factor. I'm partial to angels as my showpiece fish but you generally need a large tank to keep the larger and more active species.

i have a 65 right now but i am setting up a 125 or that will be up and running next yr, but it will be a reef tank not likely to be many sps if any, mostly/all lps softies and zoas

My showpieces are my male blackspot swallowtail angel, my powder blue tang, and my tomini tang.

Everyone of my fish are a showpiece in my book. LOL

125 LPS gives you some options. I prefer problem free peaceful fish and my favorite fishes are not always big and showy. With a 125 LPS tank and if I had the cash, I would buy a pair of platinum ORA first grade clownfish (if price is a factor, find another coloration you like) and review posts in the anemone/clownfish forum and purchase a LPS or soft coral that will likely host a pair. I think frogspawn coral and xenia will often host clowns. If you buy xenia, place it on its own seperate rock and isolate it so it does not easy spread and take over the tank.

Other cool fish would be flame angel (may nip), copperband butterfly (stunning and graceful when fat and healthy).

yahh i will deff be getting a pair of clowns hopefully a nice pair that will host in some softies.

but wow Bradleyj I see what you mean they all look great i especially like that wrasse in the last pic and that regal is outstanding. how is it witht the corals? and also if you dont mind me asking what is that tang in the first pic all the way off to the left it seems like it is above the maroon zoas/paly

Thanks, My regal loves eating acans and scolymias, so I no longer have them and I'm sure any meaty brain would be fishfood also. But other than that she is well behaved. The 2 fish on the left in my first picture are a female watanabie angel and a Kleins butterfly.
I added the Kleins about a month ago to deal with aptasia and manjanos. The aptasia are history and now the manjanos are disappearing. YAY.

wow that attenautus is amazing!! been looking for one for a very long time but hard to get here in canada!! for a show piece fish i would say some nice anthias or a wrasse since you are limited to tank size and corals!! or else definitely an angel of some sort.

Bradley your display is stunning!!! Great work. If you have a big display nothing is better than a large angel. A small display go for a smaller angel. Even better is to have a pair or trio of the centerpiece. Here are some ideas that I would be happy with. Not mine but wish they were. T
