I want to buy a shrimp, but the last two i bought were devoured by my fish.

I have two percula clowns, one purple pseudochromis and one bicolor blenny?

Is there any shrimp that could survive?

I had a scarlet cleaner - it quite quite large but was taken out while I was gone for a weekend

I bought a peppermint shrimp (small) and it was killed instantly

How often are you feeding your fish? When I cut back on my feeding a while back, my fish ended up killing two shrimps.

Psuedochromis love to eat fish I had a neon Dottyback that destroyed any pepermints that I put in the tank. I had a skunk cleaner that he left alone. I eve saw him take swipes at an emerald that was slmost as big as he was. Try a big skunk cleaner or a fire shrimp or even a coral banded, although I never had any problems with coral bandeds I have heard some horror stories.

Hope it helps

yeah, second the issue with the dottybacks, they are vicious to about anything, fish/shrimp or otherwise. did your other fish pick on the shrimp too (clowns, blenny)?

perhaps a larger cleaner like a skunk or coral banded would work. maybe try to put in at night and feed twice a day for the first few days. in a 55 gallon tank there should be enough room to hide, keep away from one another.

i had a peppermint once, but they seem to be picked on much easier than other cleaners, even the skunk shrimp were chasing it around. the peppermint died within a couple days, none of my other shrimp have died..
