Shrimp molt

Both my peps molted within the last two days. Is molting a sign of growth, or happy shrimp or just something they do? Right after a molt my big pep started carrying babies. I suspect she needed the extra room of new "skin"... Lol

The first time my CBS molted i thought it was dead and went through all the stages of grief in a short span of time, dipped out the exoskeleton and had a quiet little toilet-side funeral for it, go back to the tank and there it is.

water changes/additions can cause molts. molts can often lead to death.
