Shrimp - Molting frequency?

How often do you shrimp molt? Does it vary by species & also by age? - younger ones more often? My skunk cleaner molted just over two weeks ago & it looks like he molted again today. Thanks for any input.

well thats not it then I have heard of shrimp molting every week cause of 2 high of calcium but 400 is good so has got 2 be somthing else.

I must be losing my time, but it's actually been over 3 wks - it'll be 4 on saturday. Had to look at a calendar. He's pretty small, so I wasn't sure if younger ones molt more often.

I have never noticed much of a pattern, it just kind of happens when it happens... Although i'm sure stress might either induce or delay molting.

Yes they will grow faster if they eat more, slower if they eat less. Molting more means that they are healthy and doing well.. No worries!

I posted a similar question awhile back because my cleaner shrimp were molting every 2 weeks. From what other said they'll molt more when they eat a lot. My shrimp are FAT now and look healthy. :)

Are you doding iodine? They will molt to often with to much iodine. I learned the hard way, more is not better. I could not keep a shrimp alive. I have since quit dosing and have had all my shrimp and crabs for a year.
