Shrimpcity's crazy coral collection

Don't know which one is nicer? The corals or the photography :) i guess both equally amazing! Double bonus for us to enjoy.
nice job Eric! Wish I had the time and extra money to get a decent camera and get some lessons from you!

Wow nice collection Ben. A lot of $$ in that little tank.

The pictures are better than most (if not all) websites that sell these. Nice job Eric.

Very nice!! Can we hear a little about the tank... What kind of lighting? Do you add any supplements besides the usual for Alk, Calcium and Magnesium?

Thanks!

Really appreciate that Jason. I'm glad y'all like the pictures. I look at them and think about how I "should" have taken the picture to make it better. What I *need* next is a computer that can handle the photoediting software and photoshop (and to learn photoshop). I only use lightroom right now -- it's pretty basic -- and my ancient computer comes to a screeching halt.

You do not need photoshop. You need to teach people that you do not need photoshop to make a great coral picture. The proof is right there.

I've gotten better at finding settings on my camera that minimize the amount of work I have to do on the computer but there are still things that you just can't do on the camera, like take out particulate in the water column. Also, when shooting in raw, I think there's a little saturation loss so I typically add it back in (just a enough so it matches what I remember seeing in person).

Frag meeting photo class ? ??

Sounds fun to me :)

Sorry not trying to hijack the thread ;)

Lol, sure. Might be best to hold the event at a smaller event in front of a sweet tank. I'd be happy to talk about my tips and tricks and workflow.
