Shrooms detaching

About a week ago my wife stopped at the LFS and got a smallish piece of rock with a handful of green mushrooms on them. They haven't been eager to expand and looked a little sad but nothing too serious. This morning several of them started to detach from the rock and have floated away to parts unknown.

They were properly acclimated along with some cleaner shrimp she also snagged, which are doing just fine. My tank is primarily softies, several zoas that are now flourishing after a nudibranch infestation, a ricordea that seems bigger every day, some xenia and a toadstool leather. The rest of the corals seem happy and healthy and flourishing. I should note that a couple of my turbos unexpectedly kicked the bucket last weekend as well but the rest of the inverts and fish are quite healthy.

Are the mushrooms detaching simply because they are unhappy with their location in the tank? I have been under the impression that they are nearly bulletproof as far as corals go but they're the only ones in my tank that don't seem to be doing well. What gives?

Parameters are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, ~5 nitrate, 0 phosphate, 8.2 ph, salinity of 1.026. Didn't test alk or cal today but they have been in acceptable ranges lately.

They could have been a little stressed. Maybe too much light or not enough or the flow wasnt right.
I had that happen after a crash in my tank . A few months later they were pretty widely dispersed and reattached all over the tank . Most likely that will happen to yours.
Every once and a while a single shroom will take a leap of faith and find a better place.
If you want you can find them place them in a bowl of LR rubble put some mesh over the bowl so they do not blow away and leave the bowl in the tank for a couple of weeks . by then they should have reattached to some rubble and you can place them where you want.

This usually happines when they aren't happy where they are. Generally I always start shrooms at the bottom of the tank, in a low flow low light area. Sometimes they will still detach for no apparent reason no matter what you do.

Consider this. Turbo snails can foul at tank when they die. I had a bad odor on my tank and I pulled the dead turbo out to check it out and it reaked!!!!!!!!!! Pull dead turbos so they do not polute your tank.
