Shy Star polyp? Question

I bought a brown/green star polyp last night, lights were off when i got home, and on for about 2 hours before i left this moring for work. Only about an 1/8th of the polyps came out, and only came out about half way it looked. Are they just like fish and take a few days to "open up" per say to the new envirnment?

They take a while to acclimate. Mine stayed closed for a week when I got them, no biggie.

yeah got some over this weekend and took like 3-4 days to open up now they're doing fine

Mine have been in my tank for 6 months and have shown great growth but the power went out for 36 hours and it took the 3 days to fully open again. No worries. They are a very hardy coral.

i put some in my new tank yesterday and they opened up with a couple hrs
